Spa & Pool Helicopter Lifting in Queensland

Over the house, not through it. Spas and pool shells lowered into backyards that no crane can reach — without touching a fence, a garden or a neighbour.

02

The problem

Why this lift is hard the conventional way

A backyard spa or plunge pool sits behind a house, a fence and usually a set of powerlines. A crane must reach over all three from the street.

  • Deep blocks put the pool well beyond a mobile crane's rated reach.
  • Street setup means road occupancy permits and traffic control.
  • Fences, eaves and landscaping frequently have to be removed and rebuilt.
  • Overhead powerlines rule out crane positions on many suburban streets.

How we do it

Aircraft, rigging, crew and duration

Aircraft
Airbus H125 with 1,000 kg hook
Rigging method
Cradle sling on a 40 m line with tag lines to ground crew
Crew
Pilot, loadmaster, two riggers at the pad, backyard placement pair
Typical duration
30–60 minutes on task, plus staging
  1. 01Backyard survey: hover path, powerline clearance, tree canopy, exclusion zone.
  2. 02Shell staged and rigged at a nearby park, oval or lay-down area.
  3. 03Neighbour notification and marshals in place along the approach.
  4. 04Single approach, vertical descent, placed onto prepared bearers.

Site requirements

What you need ready on the day

01Prepared base, bearers or slab ready before the lift.
02Backyard clear of furniture, umbrellas, shade sails and loose material.

08

Cost factors

What moves the number

Staging distance

A close, legal staging area keeps the flight short and the price down.

Shell weight

Everything under 1,000 kg stays on the H125, the cheaper airframe.

Canopy and powerlines

Tight vertical descents add recon and on-task time.

Neighbouring lifts

Two or three spas in one suburb on one day dramatically reduce cost per unit.
