Both banks were vegetated riparian zone with no permissible crane platform.
A temporary causeway needed environmental approval and would have been removed weeks later.
Beam tolerance at the abutments was 15 mm.

01Beams were staged on a sealed carpark 700 m downstream and rigged with a two-point spreader.
02Survey crews set targets on both abutments so the pilot could fly to a marked line.
03Each beam was walked into bearing by tag line with fitters on both abutments.
